FAQ

What you might be wondering about Images by Alena photos!

Can you put multiple pets in my Rainbow Bridge art? How about… a person??  Is there an extra charge?

YES!  Absolutely!  Check out my “Friends Forever” art with my cats Monty and Allie – they were such loving  buddies together on earth and I’m quite sure they are together once again!  Within reason, there’s no extra charge for extra pets.  Want a pet with his/her beloved person?  No problem, I can do it!  I might recommend a larger print with multiple pets since the pets will likely be smaller images if there are several.

Do I have to send you my pet photo with my order or how does that work?

Once you place your order, I will contact you via email or phone.  Take as long as you need to pick out the perfect photo(s) of your pet.  Then you simply email me the photo at the highest resolution you have and I take it from there!

What sort of photos make the best images for the Rainbow Bridge Art?

First, pick a photo that speaks to you – pick one that you love!  Having the pet in decent focus (doesn’t have to be perfect) is also important.  Remember that I will be “cutting” the pet out of the photo, so background is not important.  It’s what the pet is doing that matters!  I can work with any photo, whether it is a full picture of your cat or dog or bird or mouse, or just a headshot!  Keep in mind that if you give me a headshot your pet’s body will be hidden beneath the rainbow and/or clouds.  Sometimes, photos with the pet looking or running or doing something can really make a cool print.  Check out Woody’s Rainbow – he’s looking at the moon (but he was really looking at his Mom in the original photo)!!

What if my picture is old and I don’t have a digital print?  Are images from my phone OK to use?

It’s OK if you don’t have a digital file!  All you need to do is find someone with a scanner or take it to have it scanned (high resolution) somewhere like Staples!  No problem! Images from your phone are fine!  Please email me the largest phone image if it asks what size to send.

Hey – I see a different night photo on your website and it’s not in the Rainbow Bridge Collection.  Can you use that for a background?

YES!  You can select ANY of my night photos for the background!  Just let me know what you like!

What if I don’t want wings… or a rainbow… or a moon? Can you change my art different from your samples?

OF COURSE!  Your art is TOTALLY CUSTOMIZED FOR YOU!

Will I get to see my Rainbow Bridge art before it is printed?

YES! I will send you a proof via email.  You tell me if you love it, or what I can change so you do love it.  I won’t send it for printing until you are happy 🙂  Once you are satisfied, I will order the print and ship it off to you!

Can you put a living animal in the print?

Of course!  I can customize to whatever you like!  You might want to remove the wings and rainbow though…

Hey – what are those “lines” in the night sky on your photos?

No, they aren’t meteors (in most cases)!  The lines are commonly referred to as “star trails”.  Since the earth is revolving, if we take a “time lapse” photo of the stars, it looks like the stars are moving and creating “trails”!  BUT… it’s really the earth revolving that creates the star trails!

Why are star trails sometimes curved or circular and sometimes straight?

It all depends on which direction (north, south, east, or west) the photo was taken!  The earth’s axis revolves around the NORTH STAR.  So, if we view a time lapse photo of stars looking north, they will appear as concentric circles around the north star!  As you move farther from due north, the circular pattern lessens and the trails look more like straight lines!
